The Needle Aspiration and Chest Tube skill station, led by Dr. Esther Rai and assisted by Nancy Dodman.
On June 12-13, 2014, the Perinatal Outreach Program Team, along with several regional instructors and educators, gathered at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn for the 8th Annual Acute Care of at-Risk Newborns workshop. The two-day event was well attended by Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and Midwives, mostly from across the SW region. On Day 1 participants reviewed their knowledge and understanding of the ACoRN textbook and process by working through case presentations. On Day 2 each participant moved through 6 skill stations, further promoting and demonstrating the process and sequences learned on Day 1. Many thanks to our regional demonstrators, Dr. Kirsten Blaine (Stratford), Karen Schliewinsky (LHSC), Dr. Esther Rai (LHSC), Shirin Hossain (LHSC), as well as our regional assistants, Nancy Dodman (LHSC) and Linda McDonald (St. Thomas).
