We are pleased to share that Linda McDonald, RN at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, has been successful in obtaining a fellowship from RNAO with a goal of becoming a Lactation Consultant. With a focus on supporting breastfeeding at the hospital, Linda is also involved with the work being done in the region by the multidisciplinary BFI implementation team.
Linda will be mentored by multiple individuals including Leanne McCullough, Value Stream Leader for the Women & Children’s Program at STEGH; and Melissa Christmas, Lactation Consultant at London Health Sciences Centre, as well as others. Funding from RNAO will support this opportunity and we will be working with Linda to support the success of this fellowship.
We hope to be able to share more information from Linda in a future article about RNAO and other funding resources that others might consider for continuing education. Please join MNCYN in congratulating Linda on this wonderful opportunity, both for the program at STEGH, and for Linda herself. We take this opportunity to thank Linda for her commitment and dedication to supporting families to breastfeed successfully and supporting the STEGH team to continue to develop knowledge related to breastfeeding.
Respectfully submitted by Leanne McCullough, Value Stream Leader – Planning, STEGH
